Cleaning Your Jewellery
Although our handmade jewellery may not be made with real precious metals , we all have to remember that it's essential to care for it properly to ensure it lasts. Each piece reacts differently based on individual factors, like the way you are using it, your type of skin, your personal care products, etc... so taking the time to maintain and handle it with care will help it remain a treasured accessory.
****To clean your lava stone jewelry, use lukewarm soapy water and a soft toothbrush. Submerge the jewelry briefly, then gently scrub the lava beads. Rinse and pat dry for fresh, ready-to-use accessories.
****To clean a beaded bracelet, gently scrub with a soft cloth or soft toothbrush dipped in warm water with a small amount of mild soap. As the sketch shows, use a damp cloth to wipe away any soap and dry with a cloth. For metal spacers and tags, polish them with a soft cloth.
***Avoid using them in water and rubbing lotion/oils over it. Keep in mind that some pieces will tear under pressure, so please avoid using them when doing hard labor.
****How to Cleanse your Gemstones ****Cold/Luke Warm running water - hold your bracelet under cold/luke warm running water for a few minutes or until the bracelet feels lighter and clearer. ***Salt - salt absorbs negative energies from the environment. Fill a bowl with sea salt, place your gemstone bracelet on top, then cover it with a clean cotton cloth and leave it there. ***Salted water - if you live near a sea or an ocean, use fresh seawater to cleanse your bracelet. You can make salted water by adding a tablespoon of sea salt into a bowl of water. Submerge your bracelet in the water for 24 hours. Never cleanse bracelets made of soft, porous stones like Selenite, Calcite, Malachite, Angelite, or Lepidolite with water. ***Sunlight - place your gemstone bracelet on a windowsill under sunlight, be aware that some stones like Amethyst can change their color when placed under intense sunlight.
***Store your beautiful pieces in jewellery boxes or closed containers to preserve the quality of your handmade jewellery for a longer longevity protecting it from dust, stains and oils from personal care products.***
